Benefits of Dental Implants

Not only are oral health and well-being closely interrelated, but studies have shown that first impressions, self confidence and a person's character can all be correlated to their smile.

Dental implants are permanent replacements for missing teeth. They look, function and feel like healthy, natural teeth.

Unlike crown and bridge treatment, dental implants do not require the alteration of adjacent natural teeth. They also prevent bone loss and the movement of natural, healthy teeth.

Due to the wide variety of dental implant treatment options and expanding dental insurance coverage, dental implants are a more realistic option that ever before.

Dental Implant Procedure at Kingsland Family Dental

  1. Tooth Extraction

If not already removed, the original tooth and root with be extracted. Depending on the health and size of the tooth and root, a graft procedure and short healing period may be needed before the implant is placed.

  2. Implant Placement

Your new dental implant (titanium tooth root) is precisely placed into the implant site. Based on your dental treatment plan, the implant restoration steps may begin immediately, or your dental implant may be completely covered by your gums for a healing period, requiring a two-stage procedure.

  3. Abutment and Crown Preparation

When your new dental implant is fully healed and osseointegrated, a crown and a metal post or "abutment" & that connects the crown to the implant will be created. This step includes soft-tissue contouring (for esthetics), impressions (to replicate positioning of the implant), and custom fabrication of your new abutment and crown (prosthetics).

  4. Crown Placement

We can seamlessly place the crown to wrap up the procedure.
